totally drug-resistant tuberculosis 


A strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis*, which is defined by researchers at Stellenbosch University (South Africa) as an atypical Beijing genotype that is resistant to 4 first-line and 6 second-line anti-TB drugs.

*TDR-TB is not yet formally recognised by the WHOTDR-TB has been reported in South Africa, China, India and Russia.
