A US federal government term of art for the $85 billion Medicare spending cut which went into effect 1 March 2013. The sequester “squeeze” heavily impacts on primary care physicians with a 2% reduction in payment for Part B* Medicare claims.

*For non-cognoscenti, Part B payments are those paid directly for physician services
