meaningful useJoe Segen2016-12-25T19:42:45+00:00
A Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS—USA) term of art for the management of data obtained from electronic health records–EHRs in ways which improve patient care by increasing efficiency and identifying issues needing surveillance and/or treatment at earlier stages of evolution in the disease process.
As of early 2012, less than 10% of physicians in US practice had met meaningful use criteria. Thusfar, EHRs had not fulfilled the promise of improved patient management.
