killology

MILITARY, PSYCHOLOGY

A neologism for the formal study of the psychological and physiological effects of combat–including the killing of others–on humans.

Because people are not “programmed” to kill*, getting soldiers to do so requires training and desensitisation, a two-prong process facilitated with combat-type video games.
