assideration

FORENSIC

A rarely used term for homicide by immersing the victim (often an older elder) in ice-cold water, with the express purpose of obfuscating the forensic analysis of the manner of death.

Assideration causes death by hypothermia and hypoxia due to laryngospasm rather than drowning.
