CLINICAL TRIALS

Definition A very small (30 patients) clinical trial that evaluated the feasibility and safety of 17β-estradiol-eluting stent for treating single native vessel stenosis

Primary endpoints Death, MI-myocardial infarction, TLR–target lesion revascularisation, stent thrombosis at 1 month and 6 months

Conclusion 17-beta-estradiol–eluted stents appear feasible and safe, have low rates of binary restenosis and revascularisation.

The authors felt that the results warranted confirmation with a large, randomised multicentre trial.

Abbreviation for: ESTrogen and Stents to Eliminate Restenosis
