Mount Everest experiment

Definition A popular term for an extremely laborious or difficult experiment.

Performed–as one might say in climbing Mount Everest, because it’s there. Such experiments are reserved by the sane for those less so and justified by investigators who may perceive themselves to be elucidating a greater truth–e.g., a disease mechanism.
