clinical ecologist

A non-mainstream health care practitioner who claims special expertise in diagnosing and treating so-called environmental disease, which is regarded as a “made-up disease” by most mainstream medical practitioners.

The term is not regulated in any jurisdiction, which is to say that any person may legally claim to be a clinical ecologist, regardless of background or training, and obtain an extralegal certification or membership from the unregulated private organisation American Academy of Environmental Medicine upon payment of a fee.
