AESTHETIC MEDICINE, DERMATOLOGY
A popular term for folds of loose tissue* on the ventral neck seen in patients with cutis laxa, which may be accompanied by a bloodhound-like face. They may also develop in adults as a normal part of the ageing process, seen in the right picture at 6 o’clock.
*Fancifully likened to wattles, the bilateral folds of tissue located at the neck of chickens, turkeys and related birds.
