zoophilia (bestiality)

SEXOLOGY

Definition A paraphilia in which sexuoeroticism hinges on viewing, engaging in or fantasising about sexual relations between human(s) and animal(s).

Reasons for engaging in bestiality The human has difficulty forming normal relationships with fellow humans or was never interested in sex with humans. Alternatively, the animal may be used as a sex toy and animated object for sexual gratification. Some zoophiliacs regard sex with animals as a loving act.

Preferred animals

• Male zoophiliacs tend to engage farm animals–goats, horses, and cows which have private parts large enough to accommodate a penis.

• Female zoophiliacs prefer household pets because their (the animals’) penises fit better and they can be trained to give oral sex (unlike most men).

Diseases linked to bestiality Worms, fleas, ticks, salmonella, campylobacteriosis, viruses which theoretically can mutate and cause new medical problems.

Management Life-long cognitive behavioural therapy

Synonyms Bestiality, sex with animals, zooerastia, zooerasty, zoophilic psychosis
