A term for banal sexual activity–e.g., kissing, which may lead to sexual intercourse, coined as an analogy to gateway drug use in which use of soft drugs–e.g., marijuana, may lead to use of harder ones–e.g., cocaine, heroin.

Intercourse per se is not the problem, but rather that for clumsy teens with leaky contraceptive, the who’s-your-daddy-who’s-your-daddy-who’s-your-daddy?  too often becomes who’s-its-daddy-who’s-its-daddy-who’s-its-daddy? In June of 2012, the Tennessee State Legislature enacted a pro-abstinence sex education law that is the strictest in the USA, going so far as to label hand-holding as a gateway sexual activity. God bless them rednecks; remember State of Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes (the Scopes monkey trial)? Same State…
