The practice of homosexual acts by a heterosexual person, when there are no opportunities for heterosexual activity–e.g., in same-sex detention centres, correctional facilities–prisons, and residential treatment centres. 

Circumstantial homosexuality may be accompanied by sadism and sexual exploitation.

Note: Homosexual experimentation is not thought to predict future homosexual behaviour
