Definition A traumatic thumb nail dystrophy associated with using a personal digital assistant–PDA keyboard for several hours per day, which is attributed to the focal increase (3 MPa) of mechanical pressure.
This rare condition is largely of historic interest, as thumb-texting devices are headed towards extinction and multitouch devices require no more than light pressure for accurate typing.
Synonyms Blackberry nail, personal digital assistant nail
