Definition A well-designed hoax website that claimed to sell human flesh to the sophisticated meat consumer.

Comment Visitors to the site could read the “recipe of the day” as they viewed pictures of attractive cuts of Homo sapiens. Pictures of meat being squeezed through a grinder underscored exactly what they were selling.

Manbeef proclaimed, “We have everything from sausages and soup bones to bouillon, and stock made with the highest quality human meats. Every cut of we sell has been selected for its superb quality and flawless texture…”

News of the website went viral and at one point, it got 500,000 hits/day. It is of course illegal to sell human meat in culturally advanced countries…as well as the United States, where all meat products must be inspected by the USDA.
