lost thought syndrome
A term that dignifies the escape of a potentially profound thought, sound bite or passage before it reaches the fully alert and conscious mind or a nearby dictaphone or pen to memorialise it.
Lost thoughts may include phrases for authors, lyrics for a lyricist or tunes for a songwriter.
The lost thought syndrome is another of the endless parade of silly “syndromes” coined by non-medical authors. While the term arguably fills a lexical void, not so much so that it can rightly be called a syndrome; we forget…we’re human.
