Blackadder syndrome


A “condition” described in the BBC comedy Blackadder: “ …if nothing else works, a totally pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through–General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmanay Melchett.  

This is loosely equivalent to the Americans’ my mind is made up, don’t bother me with the facts.

Whilst this term appears to fill a lexical void, it is clearly not a syndrome in the medical sense.
