A popular term for immobilisation by taping or tightly wrapping a fractured or otherwise injured finger to an adjacent unfractured finger or toe which acts as a splint.
Buddy taping is used for injuries of the proximal interphalangeal joint with incomplete collateral ligament tearing, where the affected finger is taped to an adjacent “buddy” and immobilised for 2 weeks or more if there is also distal dislocation.
