A venomous colubrid snake native to sub-Saharan Africa, which is arboreal, diurnal, and measures up to 160 cm.
Only a handful of fatal human envenomations have been documented*.

Importance The venom is slow acting and contains a haemotoxin and anticoagulant, resulting in haemorrhage as well as headache, nausea, sleepiness and confusion.
