Definition An often fatal disease of grazing animals, especially sheep, but also cattle and goats, which is caused by activation of Clostridium novyi spores that remain dormant in the animal until triggered by liver fluke infestation.
Treatment Usually unsuccessful due to rapidity of disease onset.
