DefinitionAn outcomes scoring system used to quantify injury severity for planning and evaluating accident prevention.
The PODS weighs the two most serious injuries as scored by the Abbreviated Injury Scale–AIS system and the likelihood of dying from the injury site, while factoring in the patient’s age.
