fishtail lesion

OPHTHALMOLOGY

Definition A descriptive term for any of a number of scattered yellow spots seen in the ocular fundus in patients with Stargardt disease, which have been fancifully likened to fish tails.

Whilst I’m no ichthyologist, calling the lesions fishtail-like is a stretch.
