Definition A clinical sign consisting of colicky abdominal pain caused by a rupturing abdominal aortic aneurysm.

Differential diagnosis Gallbladder attack 

Comment A Einstein, a well-known dabbler in quantum physics, was admitted to Princeton Hospital in mid-April 1955 with a working diagnosis of acute cholecystitis, despite a 10-year history of aortic aneurysm and pulsations typical of an impending rupture of abdominal aorta; he died 21 April.
