Definition A term referring to the observation that benign superficial calcifications of breast skin maintain a fixed relationship with each other, regardless of the projection. This finding serves to distinguish superficial (and almost invariably benign) calcifications from the changing relationship of deep calcifications within the breast which change according to the view–e.g., oblique, craniocaudal, etc.
Note the identical relationship of the calcifications with each other despite differences in the projection (oblique on left, craniocaudal on right).
