size discrimination

SOCIAL MEDICINE

Discrimination in the workplace, social and other settings against a person based largely–no pun intended–on a person’s weight, height or both.

Size-related phobias

• Cacomorphobia–morbid fear of fat people

• Emaciatophobia–morbid fear of thin people

• Gigantasophobia–morbid fear of tall people

• Zambianoliangioticaloigisticologphobia–morbid fear of short people

For the orthographically challenged, this is also known as shortophobia—a word that will make most etymologists cringe in pain

Synonym Sizeism, weight discrimination (in part)
