Mental Adjustment to Cancer scale

A widely used and validated scale based on the score obtained from the 40-item Mental Adjustment to Cancer–MAC questionnaire, which was designed to measure a patient’s fighting spirit–FS, anxious preoccupation–AP, helpless-hopelessness–HH and stoicism-fatalism–SF. The MAC scale is most reliable for FS and HH, but less so for AP and SF.

Synonym MAC scale
