George Costanza

A condition suffered by the fictional character, George Costanza of Seinfeld, the popular US situation comedy of the 1990s. He was the alter ego of Larry David (co-producer of the show) and was brilliantly fleshed out by Jason Alexander.

Many of us know (or can be described as) a George; he is down-trodden, neurotic, bald, short, chunky, often jobless, angst-ridden and, like the rest of the Seinfeld cast, completely self-absorbed

Synonym George Costanza syndrome
