NEUROPHYSIOLOGY

Definition A secreted extracellular matrix protein encoded by TNC on chromosome 9q32-q34, which has a spatially and temporally restricted tissue distribution. It plays a key role in guiding migrating neurons and axons during development, in synaptic plasticity, and in neuronal regeneration

Synonyms Cytotactin, hexabrachion, myotendinous antigen, neuronectin, tenascin cytotactin
