IMMUNOLOGY, ONCOLOGY

A fully human IgG4 antibody that blocks programmed cell death 1, the receptor encoded by PDCD1 on chromosome 2q37.3, resulting in objective clinical responses in patients with advanced melanoma.

Adverse effects Fatigue, rash, increased aspartate aminotransferase, suggesting an increased risk of liver disease
