Definition A potent inhibitor of platelet aggregation and GPIIb-IIIa antagonist, isolated from the venom of the Malayan pit viper–Agkistrodon rhodostoma. Kistrin has been used experimentally to deduce the features of protein interactions.
Research on kistrin as a therapeutic agent appears to have petered out in the mid-1990s
