A serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor used for major depressive disorder and generalised anxiety disorder. It may be used for peripheral neuropathy, particularly diabetic neuropathy, and to control the symptoms of fibromyalgia.

It is not FDA approved for managing stress urinary incontinence given the concerns regarding liver toxicity and links to suicide. 

Adverse effects Nausea, somnolence, insomnia, dizziness, sexual dysfunction.
