Definition The accidental rolling of a person on top of an infant or child sleeping in the same bed* as a parent or carer, which may cause death by suffocation.

*Commonly termed bed sharing. If the rolling party causing the infant’s death was under the influence drugs or alcohol at the time of the event, he or she may be charged with manslaughter.
