watered silk appearance
PATHOLOGY
A descriptive term for the wavy, loosely parallel fascicles of tumour cells seen by low-power light microscopy in granulosa cell tumours of the ovary and uterine leiomyomas, which has been fancifully likened to the fabric known as moire or watered silk
(I think it’s a bit of a stretch).
Synonym Moire appearance
Reference CAP, 2011—May Case of the Month
