Definition A relatively rare—0.06% at one institution—complication of therapeutic radiation with a mean latency of 15 years, in which a soft-tissue malignancy arises in the irradiated field

Histology Osteosarcoma (image), fibrosarcoma; all high-grade

Prognosis 85% 1-year survival; 45% 5-year survival
