ONCOLOGY, PATHOLOGY

A high-grade (premalignant) change of the pancreatic ducts characterised by increased mitotic activity, loss of cell polarity, cribriform patterns, severe cytological changes with chromatin clumping, and macronucleoli.

Molecular pathology The histological changes are often accompanied by an array of typical mutations, to wit, BRCA2, DPC4, and p53 and loss of heterozygosity in chromosomes 6q, 17p and 18q.
