A clinical manoeuvre in which a patient holds his/her hands aloft, as if being robbed at gunpoint (the would be robbers are meant to say, Stick ’em up!). Patients who present in this position may have an injury of the cervical spine. 


The stick-em-up position (SEUP) reproduces the symptoms of pain, numbness, and tingling in the arm and hand in patients with thoracic outlet syndrome

The SEUP places the shoulder in maximum abduction and external rotation and can be used to assess shoulder instability
