A term of art for movement of the subtalar joint during weight bearing. Subtalar supination occurs by calcaneal inversion, and talar abduction and dorsiflexion. During closed chain supination, the leg externally rotates and the talus acts as an extension of the leg in the frontal and transverse planes.
