A descriptive term for a flattened femoral head with a contiguous broad neck, accompanied by a widened articular space, premature fusion of the ossification centre and trochanteric overgrowth, which is seen in the re-ossification phase of Legg-Perthes disease or osteochondrosis of the femoral head/coxa plana and bear a visual verisimilitude to a mushroom sliced en face.
