double crush syndrome

A term referring to a type of peripheral nerve compression syndrome in which there is a “central” compression that impacts on a nerve bundle–e.g., at the thoracic or pelvic outlet, and a 2nd more peripheral compression–e.g., at the carpal or tarsal tunnel. Optimal therapy requires surgical release of both sites of compression.
