A hereditary state (OMIM:614595) characterised by increased susceptibility to pre-eclampsia/eclampsia.

Molecular pathology Defects in CORIN, which encodes a serine endopeptidase that converts non-functional propeptide NPPA into active atrial natriuretic peptide hormone, resulting in natriuresis, diuresis, and vasodilation, cause pre-eclampsia/eclampsia 5.
