log rolling

A popular term for a technique used to turn patients whose bodies must be kept axially aligned, in particular, those with spinal injury. Here, their extremities are held close to their sides and they are rolled like a log*.

*It ain’t rocket science. It requires two helpers… if the patient is big, three…if really big, four klift.
