Definition A completely automatic method used to screen for deafness in various (well-baby, intensive care unit) paediatric settings.

Method A motion-sensitive transducer is placed directly under or in the infant’s crib, and detects virtually any motion stronger than an eye blink, including respiration, which are plotted on on a stripchart over a 24-hour period.
