Definition A popular term for the administration of a lower* (boost) dose (10-25 Gy) radiation with an implanted radiation source–e.g., 192Ir to treat a local field–e.g., breast, prostate, oral cavity with cancer, in addition to external beam radiation of 45-70 Gy.
