A fancy term for death due to coitally-induced cardiac overload, which may occur in anyone with underlying cardiac disease, especially with hypertension, arrhythmias, or cerebral aneurysms.

In one study, 9% of those with an acute myocardial infarction—MI had engaged in sexual activity within the previous 24 hours, and 3% within 2 hours of the MI. The risk is low–1/106 and not increased in those with prior coronary artery disease; regular exercise prevents triggering of MIs
