A minimally invasive, catheter- based intravascular cardiac assist device designed to unload the left ventricle and reduce myocardial workload. It delivers up to 5.0 L/min of forward flow blood from the left ventricle to the aorta. It can be inserted into the left ventricle via femoral cutdown or via the axillary artery, passing through the ascending aorta, across the (aortic) valve and into the left ventricle.
