IMAGING An imaging term of art for: (1) A hyperintensity seen on an MRI of the brain in children with neurofibromatosis 1. In a small study of 32 children with NF1, thalamic UBOs were associated with lower intellectual function and size-dependent. Left globus pallidus UBOs were associated with a lower attention score; right middle cerebellar peduncle UBOs were associated with a lower sensorimotor score.
